In this video I have tried show the authentic way to make Basanti Pulao and Chicken curry in Bengali style.
As per some food researchers, Bengali style Basanti pulao recipe is believed to have originated actually from the Shahjahani Zard pulao. An interesting fact here to note is that the royal kitchen of Shah Jahan used sugar heavily in pulao. and for every Bengali with Basanti pulao ( which is sweet in taste) a must have dish is the chicken curry or mutton kosha (curry), This pulao or polao is served in special occasions especially during NABABARSHA Or Poila Boisakh (Bengali new year event) or Durga Puja days like Bijoya Dashami. It is a fragrant colorful rice recipe. The yellow color of the recipe symbolizes the color of spring. And Perhaps that’s why this dish not only taste good but also a feast for the eyes for its vibrant color. This aromatic and flavorful rice preparation is definitely a must have for every food lovers.
